To celebrate the China Tourism Day, which falls on May 19 each year, SIP recommends three themed cultural tourism routes highlighting the blended natural and urban allure of Jinji Lake and the vitality of Yangcheng Lake Peninsula.

The first route links the North Tourist Center of Jinji Lake Scenic Area (Jinji Station 10), Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, the sculpture called “In the Play (Ru Xi)”, Moon Harbor, Jinji Station 09, Harmony Screen, the sculpture called “Flying”, and SUZHOUEYE Ferris wheel.

Starting at the North Tourist Center of Jinji Lake Scenic Area, visitors can get a free guidebook and rent a bicycle. Highlights include the architectural and artistic marvels at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, the sculptures serving as local landmarks, and the evening boat tour starting from Moon Harbor, and the light shows of the Gate of the Orient and Jinji Lake Music Fountain. The SUZHOUEYE Ferris Wheel delivers a panoramic view of Jinji Lake, while the 500-meter Sky Screen at Harmony Times Square dazzles with 3D futuristic visuals.

The second route leads to the South Tourist Center of Jinji Lake Scenic Area, Ligongdi Honesty and Diligence Culture Center, Cai Yundi Sculpture Museum, Yao Jianping Embroidery Art Museum, Wall of Love, Young Sculptors Exchange Center, and Ming Gallery of Art.

This route allows the visitors to explore the morals embraced by the locals and diverse forms of art such as Suzhou-style embroidery, and stone and wood carvings. The Wall of Love, a replica of Le mur des je t'aime in Montmartre, France, is a manifestation of the friendship between China and France. And the Ming Gallery of Art boasts strong contrast between tradition and modernity demonstrated in contemporary art exhibitions.

The third route features Bicester Village Suzhou, Ui ART Center, Chongyuan Temple, Lianchi Lake Park, Peninsula Garden, West Lake Bay Ecological Sports Park, and a catholic church.

The 50-kilometer lakeside cycling track connects Xianying Lake Park, Chongyuan Temple, Bicester Village Suzhou and more, with beautiful scenery all the way through. Visitors can rent a bicycle at Xinghua Street Tourist Center to enjoy the natural and cultural landscapes along this route.
