A show integrating classical and popular music will be staged at the sunken square on the right bank of Jinji Lake on July 5 as the first of a succession of shows themed “Summer Night in SIP”.
The show will start with the brass quintets “William Tell Overture” and “Hungarian Dance No. 5” performed by musicians from China, Italy, Spain and Venezuela.
Then, Peggy and Friends, a band composed of several young people in SIP, will perform four popular songs.
Following that, a group of primary and middle school students from SIP will stage a hip hop dance integrating elements of Chinese martial arts, and the Dream Flow studio, founded by a group of versatile young people working in universities, enterprises and research institutes in SIP, will give a modern pop dance called “Let’s Swing”.
It is learned that other shows will be held on the square every Saturday evening from 7:30pm to 8:30pm as weather permits.
